Q. WHAT BOOTS DO I NEED?A. The brand of boot is not important but they should be comfortable, fit well and within your budget. Sometimes more expensive does not mean better value. When you purchase your pair of boots, make sure they feel comfortable straight away, and make sure that when laced up your foot can not slide inside the boot. If it does you will get blisters.
-
Q. WILL THERE BE MANY PEOPLE IN THE GROUP?A. Our group size varies from trip to trip. We focus on smaller groups and try to keep the limit to 15 people. This allows us to provide a better, more personal service.
-
Q. WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?A. We send out a detailed equipment list approximately 3 months before your date of departure.
-
Q. WHAT JACKET DO I NEED TO GET?A. There are many great types on the market. If you go for a warm down jacket then make sure you have a waterproof jacket as well. If you go for an all in one jacket make sure you get one that has a detachable fleece and is well layered.
-
Q. DO YOU OPERATE GUIDED TREKS FOR INDIVIDUALS?A. Yes we do. Please give us a call and we can discuss your requirements with you.
-
Q. WHAT IS THE LOCAL CURRENCY AND WHERE DO I GET IT?A. The local currency can be obtained when we land in the relevant country i.e. Tanzania shilling or Nepal Rupee etc.
-
Q. WHAT BACKPACKS SHOULD I BRING?A. You will need a small day pack and a large bag for your trekking gear. You will also need a small bag to be left at the hotel so you can have a clean change of clothes when you returm from your trek.
-
Q. WHAT SLEEPING BAG SHOULD I BUY?A. This depends on the trip you are taking. For example: Mt Kilimanjaro trek we would advise on a sleeping bag tailored for colder climates. Temperatures do get very cold the nearer you get to the summit (-10 to -15 degrees Celsius).
